A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christmas this year was such a blast -- the boys are such a fun age! For the month of December I was able to use "Stop that or I'm going to text Santa!" and "You know - the elf on the shelf is watching you." They were both crazy excited, so I used these phrases a few times a day.

Besides the toy anticipation, there was a lot to be excited about - Horse-drawn sleigh ride to see lights and a ginger house decorating party.

(Henry at the Ginger House party - he has a lot of girls in his class this year. He's called a "girl chaser" by the only other boy in his class.)

Santa's lap was a joy - no tears this year. And being with cousins is always a treat!

As is having Great Grandparents with us at Mimi's house on Christmas Eve. Henry was especially happy because he found the pickle on Mimi's tree. The grandkids decorated cookies with Mimi and we all exchanged gifts, then headed home for lights out so Santa could come.

As soon as their eyes shut Matt and I made like elves - I sewed Jake's new, XL silky. He'd outgrown of all his baby blankets but is still so attached to them. Needless to say, it was a hit. Matt spent the Eve assembling...

and was still putting toys together Christmas morning. Some of Henry's Transformers and Bakugans require a college degree! Pancakes, Christmas Mass, then off to Victoria for Christmas #3. Mimi and Pop even drove down to partake in the festivities. Bob and Mellie were gracious hosts as always - Shrimp boil, s'mores, kolaches, trip to the zoo, dominoes, target practice, rides around the ranch on the Ranger. So much fun!

Now looking back it seems like such a busy way to spend the holidays. But Christmas is about being with family and I wouldn't have it any other way!
