Cheers to One More Year!
We’ve had so much going on, I haven’t had a chance to post an update in a while, so here’s an update on our expanding family, house and the busy holidays.

We moved into our new house on November 15th and hosted Thanksgiving just a week later. The next few weeks are a total blur with contractors, unpacking and decorating for Christmas. We went to East Texas to cut trees again this year. It was fun despite the rain and freezing temperature. I think we all found trees in record time this year.

For Christmas, we headed down to Victoria. Matt’s brother Rob and family came in from Florida. Henry had a blast hanging with his cousin Megan.

After our road trip we quickly got the house in order for a New Year’s Eve party. We had a small plumbing problem during the party, which happen to include more prego women, than not. Our guests were all good sports and everyone had a blast. Speaking of pregnant women – I’m just about 32 weeks. I had a doctor’s appointment just yesterday and all looks great. My belly, which I swore was way bigger this time around, is measuring exactly what it did with Henry at 32 weeks. And I’m 8 lbs lighter! I wouldn’t recommend moving into a new house to any expecting mother, but on the bright side it’s sure helped me stay fit this pregnancy. The due date is officially set for 10:30 a.m. on February 26th. Jake is very active – he doesn’t sleep. I hope that changes after he’s born. I’d love to post a new pic if I had one. Things are going so well, doctor says there’s no need for another sonogram.

Henry points to my belly and says “baby Jake”. A couple times he’s pointed to his own stomach and said “baby”. Just in the last couple months, Henry’s been singing. He started singing the ABC’s before Christmas and now it’s Twinkle Twinkle and the Isty Bitsy Spider. He can also count to 10. Thomas the Train is all he talks about. It’s 24-7 Thomas around here. He loves our new backyard. When we first moved in, we trashed all his bottles and moved him into a big-boy bunk bed. It was a 3-week adjustment before all was good again sleeping-wise.

I just got home from a fabulous girls weekend in sunny San Diego. We’ll it wasn’t exactly sunny. It rained 2 of the 3 days we were there. Mom took Mel, Erin and I on a girls’ trip to the Hotel Del Coronado. Our plans were perfectly timed around the showers – outdoor stuff on Friday including a beach walk, shopping and seeing the seals. Then Saturday, it stormed all morning, but our sweet husbands treated us to massages so that already being scheduled was nice. Then Sunday we had an amazing brunch, got a pedicure and shopped. Jake especially enjoyed the relaxing trip and all the yummy food and desserts!
