Matt had planned a surprise Valentine road-trip to Austin. My sweet honey-bunny had even secretly arranged for my mom & dad to keep Henry, and we had dinner reservations at a 5 star joint. Matt kept saying we just need to be in Austin before 6. That’s what time the art gallery closes. Matt was going to buy me this painting I’d had my eye on for a few years now. SO SWEET! Too bad we didn’t go…
Shackleford had been out of the doggie hospital for exactly 2 weeks after the pacifier incident when he started vomiting all over the house. It was early Saturday morning just before our romantic road trip. I rushed Shack to the vet. They did x-rays and there appeared to be something new in his belly. Yes, for a third time! But it gets worse. The vet also found something lodged in his esophagus, which isn’t at all easy to get to, so we had to rush him over to the doggie ICU in Arlington, where we waited for another couple hours for more x-rays. We end up leaving Shack overnight so they could watch him.You see why my surprise road trip didn’t happen? That dang dog! He’s totally fine now. Apparently he passed it and we have no idea what made him so sick. Ho-hum…
But Henry had a fun Valentines day. We went to lunch with our neighbors then to the zoo. We got Henry a 1-year season pass so now we can go anytime. The Dallas zoo is less than 15 minutes away, so I’m sure we’ll head over there a bunch!Since our road trip didn’t happen, Matt and I just dropped Henry off at Gramme and Grandpa’s on Tuesday evening (Valentines Day) and went to dinner then got 1 hour massages at this new place by our house.
It feels like Henry is over 20 lbs now. He eats a bowl of cereal with bananas, apples or sweet potatoes every afternoon with his 8 oz bottle. He’s not quite 5 months old but 9-month to 1-year clothes fit best right now. He laughs out-loud, is still working on sitting up and rolling over and sleeps through the night – YEA!!!!
He’s so much fun – I love staying home with him. I'd hate to miss all the growing and changing that happens everyday.
