Perfectly Plump
I took Henry in for his 4 month check-up this week and boy is he growing fast! He’s in the 90th percentile for length at 26 1/4 inches and in the 97th percentile for weight -- 18lbs 10 oz! Yep, our chunky monkey is already an over-achiever. His neighbor friend, Samuel, is 14 month old and just now hitting 20 lbs, which is 50th percentile. I’ve had more than one person ask me, is he obese? Hello!!! He’s only 4 months! No, he’s not obese!

Since his height is keeping up with his weight, he’s fine. Now if his height was like 60th percentile and his weight was 90th, then yes, we’d take away the donuts and force him on the treadmill. But no worries, his height and weight are both in the 90s so he’s perfectly HEALTHY and HAPPY!

Doc says he is officially too big for his car seat so I’m going shopping for a new one. Make that 2 new ones -- one for each car. They tell me these will last until he is 4 to 7 years old. That makes it a little easier to stomach the $200 tag on each.

Doc also said we can start experimenting with solid food. Henry’s been eating a little cereal here and there for a month or so, but now we can mix in fruit/vegetables once a day. YUMMMM...

Our little booger still doesn’t sleep through the night. He was almost there in December, at 3 months. Then he got this nasty cold/congestion that keeps him up at night. He’s had it for a month now. The dr. calls it RSV. He also had a little ear infection but that’s all clear now. Doc says the cold should be out of his system in the next week or so, then we can work on sleeping through the night again. She says the best way is to just let him cry himself to sleep. My heart is already breaking. She said it will only take a few nights of waling for him to learn to soothe himself back to sleep. This makes me wanna cry! I may have to let Matt take this one and check myself into a hotel.

Other news:
Matt's offcially started busy season. Not fun. Henry is usually in bed now when Matt gets home. They get father/son time in the morning now. Our Henry is an early riser, 6 a.m., so dad gets a good 2 hours with his boy before he heads in.

Henry has another new cousin. Michael Nolan Armstrong was born Jan. 12, 2006. Actually Nolan is a second cousin, but who's counting? See pics of little Nolan --
