That’s what Matt and I were saying this afternoon when we opened the backdoor and saw our backyard underwater. We have 3 steps leading out the door onto the patio, which were completely covered. The water was less than 2 inches from rushing in our backdoor. And since we have a pier and beam house, the water was also about to seep up through the floor.
Matt grabbed a hammer and busted through our fence on either side of the house. This let the water flow quickly into the front yard and street. He saved our home!
His car wasn’t as lucky. There was about an inch of water inside. And our roof is now leaking in the guest bathroom. Not so bad; could have been a lot worse. More rain is on its way though.
Hunry, hungry Henry didn’t think much of our flash flood. He was too busy eating sweet potatoes and pears. YUMMY!!!
